Design and Manufacturing of An Apple MacBook

Aluminium Unibody of Apple Macbook

Apple's MacBook unibody enclosure represents a landmark achievement in precision CNC manufacturing. Machined from an extruded solid billet of aerospace-grade aluminum alloy, the unibody architecture replaced dozens of stamped sheet metal parts and plastic brackets with a single rigid, lightweight chassis. In addition to superior structural rigidity and thermal dissipation, this process eliminated hazardous materials such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and brominated flame retardants (BFRs) from the assembly.
